PDO Thread Lifts
Advanced, Lifting Technology
In an ideal world, your age wouldn’t be reflected by your skin, but by the growth you’ve achieved from within. Unfortunately, the natural aging process inevitably adds to the number of wrinkles, fine lines, and uneven textures you acquire over time. And it’s not just age. Even gravity, pollutants, and other environmental factors have an impact on our skin’s appearance.
With cutting-edge technology, and the help of our highly-trained providers, Advanced Regenerative Therapy can treat unwanted wrinkles and eliminate sagging skin.
A Polydioxanone (PDO) Thread Lift can visibly improve the firmness, tone, and laxity of your skin.
PDO Sutures Tighten Skin Without Surgery
We recommend the PDO Thread Lift to men or women with mild to moderate sagging skin. This non-surgical procedure is ideal for patients between the ages of 30 and 55. Older or younger patients may also benefit from a PDO thread lift depending on their state of aging and skin integrity.
This non-surgical facial contouring procedure is typically used to enhance the appearance of the following areas:
- Corners of the eyes
- Nasolabial Folds
- Marionette lines

What is a PDO Thread Lift?
PDO thread lifts are performed by inserting dissolvable sutures or stitches into the superficial layers of skin. Target areas generally include the forehead, cheeks, jawline, and neck, but may include any other area of the body.
After these threads are inserted, the body builds new bundles of collagen around each strand to organically lift and firm the desired region. With little to no downtime after treatment, the PDO thread lift is a popular choice for women and men seeking to trade loose or sagging skin for a natural, more youthful appearance.
How Does a PDO Thread Lift Work?
PDO threads are made of polydioxanone, a complex sugar that breaks down into carbon dioxide and water, so it is eventually broken down by the body over time. These threads, which have been used in surgical settings for decades, are dissolvable, flexible, and safe.
PDO threads are laser cut to grab the skin, lift, and hold. As soon as the suture is inserted, your body begins to build collagen around it. As these sutures dissolve the body continues to build natural, healthy collagen in its place.
When properly inserted, PDO strands support sagging skin like a scaffold. The polydioxanone fibers help to increase the skin’s tone, moisture, pliancy, and texture by stimulating collagen and elastin production around that scaffold.
New tissue will continue to rebuild over four to six months as the PDO threads dissolve, leaving healthy, supportive collagen to keep skin tight in targeted areas of the face.
A PDO Thread Lift may last for up to two years. We recommend patients visit annually for touch-up treatments to maintain optimal results.
PDO Thread Lift Procedure and Recovery
A Thread Lift is a minor in-office procedure lasting from 30 minutes to an hour. To make things more comfortable, a topical numbing cream may be applied to the skin. Patients are back to normal activities quickly, but some may have mild swelling or bruising that lasts a few days.
The patient should notice immediate effects from treatment, and improving results will emerge over the following months as the threads are absorbed by the body and new collagen is naturally produced.
