Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatments

What Is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is created from the liquid part of the blood, which contains red and white blood cells, as well as platelets. In the human body, platelets make up about 10 percent of the blood’s cellular components. With PRP therapy, we create a concentrated serum with up to 10 times more platelets.
The injected platelets generate a massive number of growth factors, which causes an inflammatory reaction and initiates a cascade of healing processes.
These growth factors encourage blood flow and stimulate matrix formation, helping to form new, healthy soft tissue. Medical literature shows PRP can even restore proteins in tendons, ligaments, and muscles, strengthening cartilage and providing joint pain relief.
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, it is incredibly safe, with little risk for an adverse reaction.
Regenerative Aesthetics
Platelet-rich plasma was used for decades in sports medicine before health professionals recognized it as a dermatology breakthrough. Today, these injections are a highly effective treatment for wounds and scars, as well as soft-tissue healing, facial rejuvenation, and anti-aging aesthetic treatments.
With powerful regenerative properties, PRP injections are an advanced treatment option for hair loss, aging skin, acne scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles. The therapy works by stimulating collagen production and new blood vessel growth to help rejuvenate the skin at a structural level.
Facial Rejuvenation
Medical facials are a popular treatment option that can give you a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Using PRP injections and topical treatments, we can help stimulate new collagen and improve skin tone and texture.
Following treatment, patients see continued skin improvements over 2-3 months, with results lasting up to 2 years.

Scar Rejuvenation
PRP for Hair Restoration
PRP therapy can help regrow hair by promoting stem cell regeneration and regrowth in weakened hair follicles. For men and women who are genetically predisposed to baldness or thinning, platelet-rich plasma treatments can deliver noticeable results.
Hair loss is caused by a variety of factors including age, genetics and hormonal imbalances. Male and female pattern hair loss is usually hereditary. Yet, women are more likely to experience post-menopausal hair loss while men experience hair loss at a younger age. Both men and women start losing hair when androgen levels begin to fluctuate.
PRP injections for hair restoration are a safe, non-surgical procedure with rapid recovery, no scarring, and results that look natural. Patients often experience dramatic, long-term results with just one treatment.
You may notice new hair growth and thicker, denser hair as early as two months after a PRP hair restoration treatment. However, it will take four to eight months for optimal results to become apparent, with further improvement possible for up to a year.

Learn More About PRP Treatments
PRP injections for skin, hair restoration, and joint pain are quick procedures, usually lasting around 30 minutes. With virtually no downtime, you’ll be able to go about your daily activities almost immediately after.
After a PRP session, we ask patients to follow a gentle skincare routine. Temporary side effects may include redness, tingling, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or a feeling of pressure at the injection sites. However, these side effects are shortlived and shouldn’t last for long.
Most people begin to notice results within a few weeks. As your body reacts to create a biological healing response, results will continue to develop over the following months.
Your clinician may recommend multiple PRP injections to achieve the results you want. We may recommend up to 3-4 rounds of treatments for optimal results depending on your treatment goals. Results from PRP injections may last up to 18 months.
